ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, SA is in charge of the management, operation and development of the Lisbon (Portela), Porto (Francisco Sá Carneiro), Faro, Ponta Delgada (João Paulo II), Santa Maria, Horta and Flores airports, which in 2001 represented a total of 17 million passengers. The IAGTO (International Association of Golf Tour Operators), just nominated Portugal as Established Golf Destination of the Year 2006. This was the second time Portugal has received this recognition (the first time was in 2000).

There are also 2 portuguese fields on the world's top 100, according to GOLF DIGEST – San Lorenzo in 38º and Vilamoura Old Course in 84º place.
